ST.FRANCIS SCHOOL, B.DEOGHAR, is an English Medium Co-educational School,conducted by the Franciscan Fathers and Brothers, who are members of the Third Order Regular (T.O.R) of St.Francis of Assisi, after whom the school named.It is governed by the Franciscan Society which is a Religious and charitable Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860.

The T.O.R Franciscans run several schools in Indiaand abroad in which young people belonging to every creed,social class,community & linguistic group are educated through the medium of English and the regional languages.These institutions are part of Catholic Church's effort to Share in the country's educational understanding. This effort, while particulary responsible to the Christian community,has always been at the service of the whole nation.Thus,in these institutions,recognized as Christian Minority Institutions,the primary purpose is to educate Christian children. However, non-Christian children also may be admitted.The religious beliefs of all students are treated with respect.

Established on 10th January 1970 the school has grown to be the premier institution in Deoghar.It is staffed by dedicated, competent and highly qualified Fathers, Sisters, and Teachers who create and foster the ethos for the all-round growth and progress of the students.

The ambience inside the campus is serene and salubrious which facilitates a proper environment for education and a fruitful training in life.

The school was affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations(CISCE),New Delhi, in 1977. St.Francis arms every student with the strength and depth of character that enables him/her to face the fiercely competitive society of today with ease and confidence.

The institution has a holistic approach to education where by the scholastic performance of the pupil is reinforced by the human,Christian and franciscan ideals of universal brotherhood,love peace,joy and kindness in which the school explicitly believes.Exemplary discipline,outstanding academic performance and excellence in co-curricular & extra-curricular activities are hallmarks of every St.Francis student.

OBJECTIVE
“LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE” is the motto of ST.FRANCIS SCHOOL. To ingrain the value of “Service before Self”,to inculcate the importance of duty to fellow beings before expecting rights,has been the constant endeavour of the School. The School aims at the integral development of the whole person, enlightened leadership,social responsibility and commitment to nation building.Over the years,it has built its own image,culture & ethos. It has excelled in the field of education and has striven to produce dynamic and socially useful citizens for our country respecting all castes,creeds and religions and above all upholding the core value of human dignity in the name of God and Country.

The students are prepared for the Indian Certificate Education (I.C.S.E.), Delhi,which has been recognized by the government of India as one of the Main All – India School Educational Boards. Since June 2004 the school has been upgraded to Indian School Certificate (I.S.C.or Plus Two) ,Delhi. Besides St.Francis students who have an unblemished record of character and fulfill the conditions set by the school,a few students from the local ICSE schools who are eligible will also may be considered for the admission to Plus Two.

CURRICULUM
The medium of instruction is English but very special emphasis is given to hindi,the National Language,together with the essential subjects:-Sanskrit,History,Geography,Social Studies,Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry,Biology,Physical Training,Computer Application,Economics,Fine Arts etc. The school was well equipped laboratories for science,modern Computer Lab and library to allow the pupils to develop and foster their innate talents and keep abreast with the modern education from the very beginning.

The school lays a great deal of stress on character formation and development of spiritual and ethical values which are imparted regularly to students through the teaching of Moral Science.The Social Service league(S.S.L.),actively encourages students to help generating the spirit of “Service to Humankind” enhance the love for socially useful and productive work.

Morning School : 06.20 a.m. to 11.40 a.m.

Nursery & K.G : 06.20.a.m. to 10.30 p.m.
