KALER is a small block level township of Arwal district. It is situated on the Patna-Aurangabad National Highway No.-98, about 115 Km. towards south of state capital of Bihar PATNA . Kaler is one of five blocks of Arwal district of Magadh division. Arwal district is smallest and newly constituted district of Bihar, it came into existence in August 2001, it was earlier part of Jehanabad district. Arwal township which is district headquarters of district of Arwal is 88 Km. south from the state capital PATNA. Kaler is about 27 Km. towards south from Arwal on N.H. 98. Arwal town is situated on the right side bank of the river Sone, which is a tributary of the river Ganga. Kaler is thickly populated with pathan Bradries. The Pathans are over all dominant and plays important role in the society. The population of muslims is such dense that there are three MOSQUES is this village. Other populations are mostly of SC and OBC categories. College, High School, Middle school, Hospital and different public sector Banks are available in this tiny township. The negative point is that the facility of electricity is not available. The economy of this area is totally depends on agriculture and most of the population resides in village and are farmers. The soil is sandy but highly fertile and productive. The entire area is well irrigated due to the proper arrangement of canals. Farmers harvests paddy crops mainly and also rabbi. There is no existence of any industry of other business centres in its vicinity. Agricultural Research centre has been established recently at Lodipur village about 10 Km. towards north of Kaler. A road bridge on Sone river connects Arwal to Sahar in Bhojpur district whose headquarters is ARA. The language spoken here is “MAGAHI” a dialect of Hindi.
