Veerangana Maharani Laxmi Bai Govt Girls Degree College named after the chivalrous queen of Jhansi is an esteemed institution endowing education especially to promote the financially weaker section of girls . It was established in 1996 with minimal strength of 31 girl students and has enriched itself with strength of more than 1500 girls at present. The college is situated at the heart of the city which makes it accessible for the girls from every part of Jhansi. The college provides free education with yearly scholarship to empower girls with education and discipline in life. The college has Arts and Commerce Faculty with B A , B.Com & M A in six subjects – Hindi, Sociology, English, Education, History, Political Science with well qualified faculty selected through Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The college is NAAC accreditated with Grade B that not only imparts value education but also provides facilities like NSS, Ranger, NCC, Sports, Computer Lab, E-Library, Multipurpose Hall, Reading Room, and Vocational Guidance Cell for the overall personality development of the students. It maintains Eco-Friendly and secured environment with lush green plants, trees and CCTV cameras at every corner of the college. We have a dedicated teaching fraternity that guides and motivates the students in every way. The college follows the online examination form filling process of Bundelkhand University and scholarship Process of Government. Every year various skill development Workshops are organized for the students.

Our college Sports Team has enriched the college with various shields and trophies won at college, University and state level events. To put a feather to the Cap we also have University toppers from our college in Arts and Commerce faculty.
