Cane Societies Nehru Degree College, Hardoi Established 1965 Affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University: Kanpur University, Kanpur Address Cane Societies Nehru Degree College,Hardoi- 241001 State : Uttar Pradesh Cane Societies Nehru Degree College, Hardoi is the only aided college in the District where teaching at Post Graduate Level in Faculty of Arts is Provided. Research Facilities for Ph.D degree are also available on subjects in which post-graduate teaching is imparted. It was established in 1965. Perpetual and untiring efforts of Great Freedom Fighter late sri Mohan lal Verma made establishing of this institution of Higher Education a reality in Politically neglected and economically deprived district of Hardoi. When this institution came into existence, there was no other institution of Higher Education in and around 50 KM of Hardoi. Cane Growers co-operative society Ltd and Co-operative Development union Ltd were the two Cane Committees of the district which by giving away a two storied building in front of District Hospital to this institution made a valuable and important contribution to the College which was in incipient stage at that time. It is befitting that the name of the institution is associated with Pundit Nehru who considered centers of learning as temples of Modern India. As the years rolled by the efforts of then Managing committee and of then principal bore fruits and the institution shifted to its newly built building in the south east of Lucknow chungi . Late Sri Ram Nath Thamarua made a major contribution to this institution by donating a piece of 11.72 acre land in the prime locality for the building of the college.
