Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad Govt. P. G. College, Mahmoodabad, Sitapur is one of the premier institutes of state government of Uttar Pradesh which was imparting the service of teaching, learning and research of higher education to the last person of society in rural and under developed areas consistently since 1976. The college was named after Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad, the 5th president of India. The college was also aimed for providing high quality education at minimal cost through optimal utilization of available resources in rural areas. The co-education system of college provides the equal opportunity to both the boys and girls at single forum. The college not only providing the subjective education but also fulfills the aim of society for their training to inculcate moral values among the students and live up the expectations of good citizenship. The college has two different campuses, Mahmoodabad campus and Judaura campus, holding the land of 17.28 and 5.14 acres, respectively. The mahmoodabad campus has lush green environment having about 600 old mango and other trees that gives the good and healthy environment for teaching and learning to our students. There are two multipurpose halls, 21 lecture theaters/lecture rooms, well-equipped laboratories, playgrounds, courts etc. There is a central library having a collection of 28000 books and journals. Besides, several departments have their own departmental libraries. Lecture method is the most commonly practiced method of imparting knowledge, by using various IT tools and innovative methods like however, overhead/slide/LCD projectors, audio-visual devices, charts and models are also used as teaching aids. Teachers are also imparting education by using online platform. The college has good facility for indoor and outdoor games. The college also publishes its own annual magazine, Manjari, to instill the innovative behaviour in faculty, staff and students. Since establishment The college was affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, but now college is constituent of University of Lucknow Uttar Pradesh which provides the degrees with its name to our students and attracts students for higher education in friendly environment because of availability of a large number of subject choices, familiar and affectionate relation between students and teachers, research supervision by experienced faculty and tradition of quality education. Presently, there are three faculties, Arts, Science and Commerce with 16 departments offering the undergraduate courses whereas 8 departments are offering the postgraduate courses. The college was also recognized for research centre of CSJM university which offers the Ph.D. programmes. The teaching staff of 28 faculty members are giving their services of teaching, learning and research to over 3500-4000 students. The college administration and non-teaching staff strengthen the ability of faculty members and students with their support. Besides, college promotes the students to community services via Rover -Rangers, NCC and NSS. The college was also covered under 2(f) and 12(B) lists of University Grant Commission, New Delhi. Moreover, the college has been recognized for distance learning centre of Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Uttar Pradesh. Admission to various courses is given on merit basis strictly in accordance with reservation policies provided by the state government. Presently, the college publishes information brochure with the application form in electronic form which gives complete information about the college in a nutshell. Weightage is given to women candidates, certificate holders of sports participation of National and state level, NSS, NCC and Rovers-Rangers. The admission process was completely online to ease the students that promote the paperless and transparent environment. The college is really proud on its large base of alumni who have giving their services in every fields not only in county but abroad also, including teaching, civil services, armed forces, judiciary, private and public sectors, media and Sports of the society.
