A constituent unit of LN Mithila University is located at sarisab-pahi, the heart land of mithilanchal region. Sarisab-pahi falls within the site assigned to the ancient city of Amaravati in Mithila. This village has been the seat of learning from time immemorial and has produced outstanding scholars in different ages.

This college was founded in 1959 (2ndJuly on the land donated by the maharaja of Darbhanga. Both the school and college where running in two identical buildings in the same campus.

The eminent scholars of the vicinity with requisite qualifications where chosen by the governing body as faculty members of different subjects and the institutions began to flourish by the generous donations both in the form of money and land by the local people and the honesty of purpose and the dedication to the cause display by the founder teachers and the non-teaching staff.
